A reliable source informs me that after some successful friends and family meals, Michael Scelfo's long-awaited Alden & Harlow plans to opens this evening in the old Casablanca space at 40 Brattle St. in Harvard Square. Scelfo used to be the chef at the Russell House Tavern nearby. He's also an avid and tempting Instagrammer, so if you want to get a sneak peek at the types of food you'll enjoy at his restaurant, visit him there.

I reached out to Scelfo to confirm the opening; no word yet, so definitely give the restaurant a call before heading over (617-864-2100), though for what it's worth, their Facebook page indicates that they're open today at 5 p.m. Good luck, chef!

Alden & Harlow, 40 Brattle St., Cambridge

Update: It's opening tonight, and here are the dinner and cocktail menus, below.
