A crunchy new menu at Michael's Deli
Brookline's favorite Jewish deli has gotten a mini menu makeover. Yes, Michael's still has the lox and pastrami you know and love, but they're also trying out new, signature "Dirty" sandwiches, topped with Dirty potato chips. Owner Steve Peljovich took over Michael's in 2012, and he's getting experimental: Enjoy a "Disheveled Brisket” (brisket with horseradish sauce topped with Jalapeno Heat chips), the “Unkempt Tuna Salad” (tuna salad coated with Maui Onion chips, pictured), or perhaps the “Sloppy Hot Roast Beef” (hot roast beef and cheddar cheese, crowned with sweet and smoky Mesquite BBQ chips).
There's also a fresh assortment of what we can only describe as fusion knishes. This month it's a Cuban theme: arroz con frijoles, guava con quesa, and pollo loco. (Peljovich's parents are from Cuba.)
Michael's opened in 1977. Check out the full menu.
