We knew the food would be good with former Russell House Tavern chef Michael Scelfo in charge, but now we have high hopes for the cocktails too: We've learned that Eastern Standard bartender (and whiskey fan) Seth Freidus will manage Alden & Harlow's bar program.

Eastern Standard, of course, has one of the best cocktail programs in town, masterminded by local legend Jackson Cannon. Alden & Harlow will take over Harvard Square's Casablanca space at 40 Brattle St. We're told that it will open in November. Cheers!
