The newest Boston-area Pinkberry opens at 263 Elm St. in Davis Square on Friday, doubtlessly to the delight of incoming Tufts students. To celebrate, they'll throw a fro-yo fete on Thursday evening from 5:30-8:30 p.m. with free samples, a DJ, and giveaways. They'll also present a donation check to the Somerville Homeless Coalition. They plan to partner with the charity year-round on various events.

The official-official Pinkberry opening happens on Friday at 10 a.m. Last month, the yogurt bar opened a branch in the North End.

Pinkberry, 263 Elm St., Somerville, 617-623-3338
