Tremont 647 (briefly) turns into an izakaya

Before we take off for the long weekend, something to plan for come September: The South End's Tremont 647 will become a Japanese izakaya for one night only on September 16. Boston's short on izakaya (think: Japanese pub food) options; sensing this, Chef Andy Husbands will concoct small sharing plates paired with sake. Tickets are on sale now for $30; scope the full menu ahead.

Three Mushroom Dumplings
wood ear, shiitake, porcini, black vinegar dipping sauce

Yakitori Chicken Skewers

fermented bean paste, ginger
