Brookline's Naked Pizza is papered over

Brookline's Naked Pizza is no more: Boston Restaurant Talk reports that the papered-over pizzeria shuttered on August 1; a call to the restaurant confirms the closure. Naked prided itself on serving super-charged healthy pizzas without "freaky chemicals" and breadsticks stuffed with pre- and post-biotics.

Could the company's health be in peril, too? BRT says that the chain had local expansion plans, which now seem to be on hold; a Brighton location closed in 2012, after less than a year in business. There are still plenty of Naked Pizzas nationwide, though, so maybe it's just us?

In pleasanter pie news, Universal Hub says that West Roxbury's Upper Crust (read about the chain's legal woes here) will soon reopen under new ownership as Parlor Pizza.

Parlor Pizza, 1727 Centre St., West Roxbury
Naked Pizza, 1331 Beacon St., Brookline
