Date night: West Bridge launches greatest hits menu
Kendall Square's West Bridge is home to Matthew Gaudet, who made headlines with a recent Food & Wine Best New Chef win. (The magazine hailed his "compelling twists on regional New England cooking.") To celebrate, he's running a Chef’s Table tasting menu every Wednesday evening, available for 10 lucky diners. The eight-course menu spotlights some of Gaudet's favorite dishes, and it also offers the chance to sample some of his new experiments.
A few dishes: tomato salad with beef bacon, melon and summer squash salad with crispy quinoa, steak tartar with oyster toast, and halibut with artichokes. It's a definite special occasion splurge (menu is $110, or $165 with wine pairings), but it's a terrific chance to get up close and personal with a rising local chef. The dinners kick off on July 3. (Do we need to tell you that reservations are required?)
The editors at Food & Wine aren't West Bridge's only fans. Globe critic Devra First was also impressed back in July 2012.
