Despite the sluggish weather, massive Bruins loss, and Aaron Hernandez drama, it's been a very good week to dine out around town. If you haven't been reading the Restaurant Hub faithfully (and you should), we've compiled the five things you absolutely need to know about eating out in this town, right now. We'll do it weekly. Are you dining anywhere fun this weekend?
1. El Centro Dos has opened in Brookline. This excellent South End Mexican restaurant has expanded to 236 Washington St. This version has a full bar, as well as mid-priced Sonoran specialties and native artwork. Read all about it here.
2. Clover has opened in Brookline Village and in Burlington. Fulfill all of your virtuous food needs in not one but two new locales! And, as of last night, plans have been cemented for a Kendall Square Clover, with a permit approved to open at the Google headquarters, doubtlessly inspiring countless chickpea fritter Google doodles.
3. Radius closes this weekend. Michael Schlow's flagship restaurant signs off after 15 years. They're throwing a "Last Call" party on Saturday night, with complimentary snacks. It's sad to see a mainstay restaurant go; on the plus side, it's a chance to dine there affordably.
4.The Common Ground has tentative plans to expand to Arlington. A rep tells us that nothing's set in stone yet, but stay tuned. The prospect of disco fries on Mass Ave. is huge.
5. Sweetgreen has opened in Back Bay. It's the spot for all your healthy lunching desires: juices, creative salads (spicy quinoa, anyone?), and, of course, frozen yogurt.
