Happy news, fro-yo fans: The yogurt explosion shows absolutely no sign of melting. In fact, a spokesperson for Pinkberry tells us that the Los Angeles-based brand will launch two new locations by next month, if all goes according to plan. The new outposts will be in Davis Square and the North End.

Though the chain is national, we're told that Pinkberry plans to play up its local sourcing, working more closely with regional ingredients, including using milk from dairies in Maine.

Pinkberry currently has 11 Massachusetts shops. In Davis, it joins newish fro-yo joints iYo and Orange Leaf. Are you excited about the Pinkberry expansion? This new waffle cookie, available at their Hingham and Prudential Center shops, does look tempting.
