Counting down the best TV in 2010
2. "Breaking Bad" (AMC)
The second season of "Breaking Bad" was great. The third was even greater. Everything is top-notch, from the acting and writing to the spectacular cinematography (by Michael Slovis) that frames each shot precisely and artfully. And it all works together to create some of TV's most meticulously paced suspense sequences — suspense in the manner of a thriller, and moral suspense, too. As Bryan Cranston's Walt (front) gets ugly, and taints those around him, Aaron Paul's Jesse (in rear) has become more sympathetic. This show reminds us that dire circumstances sometimes bring out unexpected sides of ourselves.
