Daredevil, Luke Cage, and the rest of Marvel's upcoming live-action Netlfix series are set to shoot in New York, Disney chief Bob Iger and New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced on Wednesday.
The quad of 13-episode programs slated for Netflix will feature New York-based comic book heroes Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones and Iron Fist, culminating in a miniseries with all of the Defenders.
The folks over at Marvel confirmed the announcement over Twitter.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the state of New York has devised an incentive package valued at roughly $4 million - one of the largest television or film production deals ever in the the state - to lure Disney to shoot four new series and one miniseries in the area. In total, over 60 hours of programming will be shot in the state.
