It appears Vince Gilligan's prequel to "Breaking Bad" has another major player returning to the sands of Albuquerque, N.M. Jonathan Banks's character, Mike Ehrmantraut, has reportedly been slotted to become a series regular on "Better Call Saul." Deadline.com first broke the news this morning that Gilligan and "Breaking Bad" co-executive producer Peter Gould will bring back the cantankerous hitman, who spent 2.5 seasons as the head of security for drug lord Gustavo Fring (Giancarlo Esposito).
Banks is currently playing intense criminology professor Buzz Hickey on NBC's "Community." But with "Better Call Saul" slated to debut on AMC in November, perhaps another one of Banks's characters will be taking an impromptu vacation to "Belize."
What do you think about this casting news, and what other characters would you like to see Vince Gilligan resurrect?
