Martha Stewart, the home goods emperor-turned jail-bird, is apparently back on the market--for dating, that is. The 71-year-old posted her personal dating profile on Match.com last week, receiving more than 20,000 page views within a few days, according to NBC.
After more than 1,000 men contacted Stewart, she narrowed down her choices to two, whom she agreed to meet on the "TODAY" show with Matt Lauer this morning.
Suitor No. 1: Stan, a filmmaker who shoots independent features and commercials. He and Stewart met a while back while shooting a K-Mart commercial. Coincidence?
Suitor No. 2: Larry, an executive in the international steel trade, claims to be "romantic, above all," in his profile, and loves movies, museums, Lincoln Center, and holding hands.
Stewart made sure that fans of the "TODAY" show knew this wasn't staged.
"None of these have been set up," Stewart told Lauer. "None of this is fake. I just want everybody to know that because I want other women in a similar situation to mine to realize that it can be done," she said.
