Sarah Rodman is still at the Television Critics Association summer press tour, also known as the endurance test that may be more drawn out than this season of "America's Got Talent." Here is a selection of her tweets from the NBC panels, where she saw celebs including Todd Palin on stage chattering about the reality show "Stars Earn Stripes." Palin later showed up at the NBC party on Tuesday night with his wife, Sarah (above).

Our Sarah -- she goes by @GlobeRodman on Twitter -- tweeted about Matthew Perry, whose character in his new sitcom "Go On" is based on various sports radio talk show hosts (thus the references in the pilot to the Bruins and the Red Sox). Also: comments from NBC executives Bob Greenblatt and Jennifer Salke.

Up now: "Stars Earn Stripes" a military-themed reality competition with actors, athletes, and singers, hosted by Gen. Wesley Clark. #NBC

Producer Dick Wolf of "Law and Order" fame starts with a statement saying the show is a tribute to the troops.

The "Stars" on the show/panel include: Dean Cain, Terry Crews, Picabo Street, Nick Lachey, Laila Ali, and Todd Palin. #TCAs12 #NBC

Todd Palin says his motivation in joining the show was to shed light on and raise money for the troops. #NBC TCAs12 #StarsEarnStripes

All the stars admit it was very difficult and the special ops folks who appear on the show were surprised by how tough the celebs were. #NBC

Among those attending NBCs #TCAs12 party tonight: Sarah Palin, a monkey, Matthew Perry #theresajokeintheresomewhere

Palin was accompanying her husband Todd, who is appearing on "Stars Earn Stripes." Totally non-political observation: her shoes were fierce.

Up now at NBC, the new Matthew Perry comedy "Go On." His wife dies, he joins a grief-support therapy group, hilarity ensues. Really. #TCAs12

Perry says his character is a "nicer, more well-intended guy" than other characters he's played since Chandler Bing on "Friends." #TCAs12

When asked what the best role he's ever had Perry answers "Well it would be stupid not to say this one." #couldheBEanymorepolitic

He then amends, "it's either this or 'The Whole Ten Yards.'" #MatthewPerryisFunnyRemember

"Friends" rears its well-coiffed, six-headed... head. Perry deals nimbly with it trying to explain the combo of magic, luck, and chemistry.

On today's #TCAs12 docket: NBC. Entertainment prez Bob Greenblatt says he's excited for the Olympics and the fall programming.

Greenblatt says he's "inordinately proud" of "Smash" on many levels, especially technically. #puttingittogether #TCAs12 #NBC

He agrees with everyone who ever watched the show that it was "inconsistent" and that they will be working on that. #goodidea

On the great NBC sitcoms ("Parks and Rec," "30 Rock") Greenblatt says they're huge fans but they simply don't get broad enough audiences,

Entertainment prez Jennifer Salke says that the new comedies may seem more commercial but that's what they need. #TCAs12 #NBC

Salke says they also passed on having "The Mindy Project" on NBC because she thought it would be a good fit for Fox. #sheisright #smaht

Greenblatt says they are cautious about doing two cycles of "The Voice" but thinks they can keep it fresh. #2xXtina #notsosure #NBC #TCAs12

Greenblatt also says he won't categorically rule out another season of "Community." #fiveseasonsandaTVmovie
