Ann Curry won't be waking up early anymore.
Curry announced on June 28 that she will no longer return to NBC's "Today" show as a co-host. The departure comes after much speculation that NBC executives had been planning to oust her after the morning show, which had won ratings every week since 1996, until that changed this spring, The Associated Press reports.
The TV host was emotional as she bid farewell, saying, "This is not how I ever expected to leave this couch after 15 years but I am so grateful."
Curry joined "Today" as a news anchor in 1997, and became a co-host last year after longtime host Meredith Vieira left the show.
