'SVU' Fatigue
The plots involving the personal histories of detectives on cop shows can be pretty outrageous these days, not least of all the twists and turns in the life of Mariska Hargitay’s Olivia Benson on "Law & Order: SVU." After a while, it seems, TV's crime writers tire of the usual murder-of-the-week fodder and start going crazy on their regular cast. Tuesday night, Benson, whose family history would take up far too much of this blog, deals with the trauma of having been attacked last season when she was undercover in a women’s prison. Please, "L&O: SVU," let poor Olivia spend the rest of the 10th season in peace! Free Olivia!
