Creature Double Feature
If nothing else, this is a chance to see car dealer Ernie Boch get his Elvira on: Tomorrow from 12 to 3:30 p.m., WLVI-TV -- Boston's WB56 -- is resurrecting its cult hit "Creature Double Feature." The cheesy/scary horror movie bloc, hosted by a guy named The Ghoul, was a cult hit on WLVI in the '70s and '80s, and has inspired some pretty impassioned fan websites.
Boch is sponsoring a one-time resurrection of the show, featuring 1971's "Godzilla v. the Smog Monster" (Japanese dubbed into English) and 1959's "The Giant Gila Monster." Now, I love almost anything that's English-dubbed Japanese. But I'm also fascinated by Boch, who -- because he said so -- will not only sponsor, but host, in full makeup. (There's also a new co-host named The Stump.) His website details his transformation; it's sort of Addams Family meets Gene Simmons. It looks a lot more fun than selling cars.
