THE LOSERS (HBO on Comcast) A gang of CIA-contracted mercenaries hunts down the boss who betrayed them. The director, Sylvain White, does everything he can to approximate the unreality of certain comic book titles. But an arch jokiness toward sex, violence, and suspense rots away the thrill. With Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Zoe Saldana, Idris Elba, Chris Evans, and Jason Patric. (PG-13; runs through Aug. 22) WESLEY MORRIS

DADDY DAY CARE (Starz on Comcast) An Eddie Murphy comedy about unemployed fathers who baby-sit for a living. It’s a lethargic bouquet of potty jokes, crotch kicks, and Scooter-pie lunches. Cute has seldom been this dangerous -- or this monotonous. With Regina King, Anjelica Huston, and the enjoyable Jeff Garlin. (PG; runs through Aug. 11)

ALL ABOUT THE BENJAMINS (Max on Comcast) Miami bounty hunter Bucum Jackson (Ice Cube) and small-time con man Reggie Wright (Mike Epps) are after the same thing: a huge payday. So are a gang of murderous jewel thieves who are trying to find $20 million in diamonds and to kill Bucum and Reggie in the process. Video director Kevin Bray applies his stylish touch to this fast-paced and violent action movie. Main reason to watch? Good comedic chemistry between straight man Cube and funny man Epps. (R; runs through Aug. 18)
