A Stand Up Mother 10 p.m., WE

Like so many other reality shows, this new one lands on the boundary line between bad sitcoms and reality TV. Both reality shows and bad sitcoms thrive on character stereotypes and contrived situations. In “Stand Up Mother,’’ stand-up comic Tammy Pescatelli deals with balancing her family life in Pennsylvania and her career in LA. She also contends with her loud, opinionated Italian extended family. Lights Out 10 p.m., FX

Lately, FX has had trouble getting its new shows seen. Tragically, the excellent “Terriers’’ never found an audience and got canceled. “Lights Out’’ is doing a little better than “Terriers,’’ but it still needs to grow to survive. The story line is familiar — former champ gets desperate, makes bad decisions, tries to come back. But the show has a few good performances, including Pablo Schreiber, Stacy Keach, and Reg E. Cathey.
