Dear Doctor: I’m suffering from a case of automatonophobia. You know, fear of wax statues, humanoid robots, or anything that falsely represents a human. So can I get an excuse note so I don’t need to watch this special, in which the guy who won “America’s Got Talent’’ in 2007 pulls out his ventriloquist dolls for an hour of play? Thank you.

Jockeys 9 p.m., Animal Planet

This docu-series, which tracks a bunch of jockeys, has enough drama and action to entertain even those who aren’t horse-racing fanatics. The episodes are constructed with lots of explication of the rules of racing. Are the situations contrived or amped up for TV? Probably. But so what. That’s old news.

How Green Was My Valley 8 p.m., Flix

How many tradable carbon credits was my home.

Project Runway 9 p.m., Lifetime

Wunway wocks.

Bridezillas 10 p.m., WEtv

Maid of honor, you’re fired.

Supernanny 8 p.m., Channel 5
