9. Frankenstein wastes a minute of our time
Dressed as a grunting, green, Karloff-inspired Frankenstein, writer Brian Stack vicariously takes audience members backstage and into the twisting bowels of Conan's studio. With cameras in tow and with running commentary from O'Brien, the hunchbacked Stack gleefully hastens to something supposedly fascinating. Inevitably, the object is question is something banal like a spatula, a stick of butter, or a TV test pattern. At this point, any fan of the show is in on the joke, but the predictable build-up is almost Andy Kaufman-esque in its absurd brilliance.
