Murals on walls of Maine home

Fred Field for The Boston Globe
Homeowner Glenn Haines of East Baldwin, Maine points out the extensive 19th century folk art murals being removed from his home to Nelle Ely (right), president of the Rufus Porter museum where the work will be displayed. To remove these pictures means not only irking some preservationists but also literally tearing apart a 165-year-old house -- or risk that whoever owns it next might endanger the murals, purposefully or not.
