Anybody who reads this blog knows I have a soft spot for Howard Stern. And if you're a fan, you can't help but cheer for Lisa G., who has managed to maintain her dignity, privacy and sense of humor as one of the Howard 100 news reporters.
Now, some big news. Lisa G., sometimes mocked mercilously for her annual cookie party, has partnered with a former Boston company to create her own buttery treat. A Dozen Eggs, in Jamaica Plain before heading to Vermont, has created the Lisa G. line.
What's semi-hilarious is how A Dozen Eggs introduced the cookie. Apparently, Laura Courtemanche, the company's leader, felt it was important to send a pre-emptive defense of Stern.
Lots of people don’t “get” the show, people who have never listened and even some of the listeners (judging by their calls and emails to the show). I like to believe that Dave and I “get” it.
If you listen to the entire show for one whole week, I bet you’d be addicted too.
So, please don’t judge me or Howard Stern based on what you’ve heard, give the show a chance.
He has changed a bit, (in my opinion, and based on the man I’ve listened to on the radio) over the years and he seems to be a more compassionate person than he used to be, he’s an animal lover and supports the North Shore Animal League. For his recent wedding, all gifts were to be donations to the Wildlife Rescue Center of the Hamptons. His wife Beth Ostrosky-Stern is an active supporter of both charities.
In all the years I’ve listened, he has been extremely respectful of all the women in his life, his mom, daughters, former wife, new wife and my new friend and partner, Lisa G.
Okay. All that is nice, but what really matters are these... the cookies.
