Starting today, you can download music at the Boston Symphony Orchestra's bso.org site. The recordings are available in both MP3 and the higher quality HD Surround, though you'll need a PC for the latter. The music that went up today has already been released on CD, including the BSO's gigantic archival recording box. (See below.)

The big prize comes in February, when the BSO releases four recordings with James Levine leading the orchestra. Nobody's saying much about what will be on the albums other than that one of them will be Ravelís Daphnis and Chloe, from a 2007 concert.

For more on this, look to tomorrow's business section.
