Mark Shanahan sits next to me at the Globe. But of more importance, for this discussion, is what Geraldo Rivera told Mark he would do in a recent profile if he were to stumble upon Michelle Malkin.

"Michelle Malkin is the most vile, hateful commentator I've ever met in my life," he says. "She actually believes that neighbors should start snitching out neighbors, and we should be deporting people.

"It's good she's in D.C. and I'm in New York," Rivera sneers. "I'd spit on her if I saw her."

Well, even Geraldo has regrets. He tells Bill O'Reilly he'd like a do-over on his Malkin comment, all the while managing not to criticize Mark, a rare move. (Usually, in situations like this, the subject tends to shoot the messenger.)
