Artist Fay Chandler’s generosity is based on the belief that everyone should have art in their lives. To that end, she founded the Art Connection in 1995 as a way to get work by donor artists and collectors onto the walls of community service organizations. Now the about-to-be-88-year-old philanthropist is at it again. She’s donating all proceeds from sales of the birthday exhibition “Just As I Am’’ to the Art Connection. Leftovers will be given to local non-profits. The show is a survey of Chandler’s five decades of work. Not a bad legacy for an artist who was a 38-year-old mother of four before she even started her career. Sept. 16-27, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. daily. Opening reception Sept. 16, 5-7 p.m. Free admission. Boston Center for the Arts Cyclorama, 539 Tremont St., Boston. www.theartconnection.org
