Motherhood is not for the faint of heart. It's a 24/7 job with no paycheck, pension, or paid vacation - a perfect subject for Ginger Lazarus: "It's realistic, no matter how wonderful it is, there's always some struggle." In "A Blessing and a Curse: A Duet of Plays on Motherhood," the local playwright presents two one-act plays that explore the highs and lows of the job. "Benny and Serena's High School Graduation" is a bittersweet comedy about a mother and son; In "Mary," a woman is about to save the world when an angel appears offering something different.Tonight at 8 (through March 15). $20, $15 students and seniors. Boston Playwrights' Theatre, 949 Commonwealth Ave., Boston. 866-811-4111. www.bostonplaywrights.org
