OK, technically it's not just the Hub. And maybe it's not quite a fever.

But still, Henrik Ibsen's "A Doll's House'' certainly seems to be all the rage hereabouts.

First came an excellent production last month by the Gamm Theatre of Pawtucket, R.I., that transposed Ibsen's 1879 classic to 1959 America. It starred Jeanine Kane as Nora Helmer, the woman who shocks her smug, supercilious husband by declaring her independence, walking out on him, and leaving behind their comfortable suburban life.

Next up was the New Repertory Theatre in Watertown, where Theresa Rebeck's "DollHouse,'' a version of the play set in present-day Connecticut and starring Sara Newhouse as Nora, is running through March 20.

Now comes word that still another production of "A Doll's House'' is in the offing, this one by Williamstown Theatre Festival. Slated to run from July 20 to July 31 at WTF's Nikos Stage, it will be directed by Sam Gold and will star Lily Rabe as Nora.
