Whitford: Aerosmith to record album
Steven Tyler's new job as an "American Idol" judge apparently won't stop Aerosmith from recording a new album. Guitarist Brad Whitford told Billboard that the band is talking about making its first album since 2004's "Honkin' on Bobo." "Obviously we'll have to work a little bit around Steven's television schedule, but he's ready to do it and he's pretty confident he can do this record, so hopefully we can get some of that new music out next year," said Whitford, who's on the road with the Experience Hendrix 2010 tour. Though lead guitarist Joe Perry had poked fun at the singer's new gig on the Fox singing contest, Whitford now says it might actually help the band. How? He says Aerosmith might appear on "Idol." "I keep waiting for that phone call," he told Billboard.
