In case you missed it last night and no one has yet sent you a link to it, here is the skit everyone's talking about today: Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake's guide to the history of hip-hop, performed last night on Fallon's talk show.
Fallon says he's surprised that the video has gone viral. "We never know what's going to viral or get picked up, and this one's beyond what we thought it would do," he said today in an interview with the Associated Press.
The medley -- which started with Sugar Hill Gang's "Rapper's Delight" and included snippets of songs by Run-DMC, the Beastie Boys, Snoop Dogg, Kayne West, and others -- was not easy to pull off, Fallon said. "You know I really needed to practice. You know I can't rap," he said. "I was in my apartment till 2 in the morning the night before doing (the) Soulja Boy (dance) and my wife was like, 'You're crazy!"'
Timberlake, on the other hand, was a natural at it. Check it out. His impression of the Beastie Boys is priceless.
