Think you're good enough to play the Tanglewood Jazz Festival? Here's your chance. The festival, which runs Sept. 4-5, has four slots available in its "Jazz Cafe" and is inviting singers and musicians to submit video auditions. Submissions will be accepted here until June 15 (there is a $10 fee), and winners will be announced July 1. Artists who have headlined festivals or large concert halls will not be considered; there are no age restrictions. So who's doing the judging? Some impressive names, including Lena Horne biographer James Gavin, Jazzcorner.com owner Lois Gilbert, JazzTimes writer Christopher Loudon, singer Jane Monheit, WGBH radio host Steve Schwartz, Tanglewood Jazz Festival manager Dawn Singh, and vocalist Sachal Vasandani. At least two of the four slots will be filled with singers. The four winners will each receive $1,000 for travel and accommodations.
