The second full week of Whitey Bulger's trial kicks off today, and Mike Bello stopped into RadioBDC this morning to give some analysis of what's happened so far, and what's going to happen next.

Hitman John Martorano faces off with the defendant today, tying Bulger to numerous murders Martorano claims he carried out at the alleged mobster's orders. "It'll be an amazing day," said Bello.

Martorano can tie Bulger to the 19 killings of the Winter Hill gang, and the defense will assert that Martorano is a criminal and cannot be trusted to give honest testimony.

The two have been friends since the 1960s, and Martorano's son is named James, after Bulger. It was a deep insult to Martorano to find out Bulger had become an FBI informant, explained Bello, and he would have never testified if that wasn't the case.

Martorano is the first of three witnesses that tie Whitey Bulger to the crimes of the Winter Hill gang.
