Finally, the weather has shifted in our favor, and hopefully that will prompt all those hibernating music fans to reemerge from their dens and see some live shows.

This week, Boston plays host to a handful established bands, but it's the locals that are dominating the scene, as the Rock N Roll Rumble continues with preliminaries at T.T. the Bear's Place. Keep a lookout for the semi-finals of the annual rock-off next week.

Wednesday, April 10:

Cold War Kids are at The Paradise. Their new album, Dear Miss Lonelyhearts, was released earlier this month and features "Miracle Mile," which you heard on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Also on tonight's bill is Houses. ($20 / 18+ / Doors at 7 p.m.)

Indie favorites Cloud Cult and JBM are at Brighton Music Hall. ($15 / 18+ / Doors at 8 p.m.)

Old Abram Brown's new EP "Summer Home" comes out on the 16th, but they're hosting a party at Great Scott with Abadabad and Kid Mountain.'s Scott McLennan called the new release "serious headphone music" in his recent review. ($8 / 18+ / Doors at 9 p.m.)

Thursday, April 11:

The Presidents of the United States of America are at The Paradise performing their 1995 self-titled album, with Eternal Summers and You Scream I Scream. ($20 / 18+ / Doors at 8 p.m.)

The Rock N Roll Rumble preliminaries continue. Earlier this week New Highway Hymnal, Glenn Yoder and the Western States, and a bunch of other great local bands played in the competition, and it continues this week. On Thursday, see Twin Berlin, Lifestyle, Whitcomb and Mount Peu, at T.T.'s. ($8 / 18+ / Doors at 8 p.m.)

Friday, April 12:

Muse is smack in the middle of their 2013 world tour, and they're stopping by the TD Garden, with Scottish band Biffy Clyro. ($42+ / All ages / Doors at 7:30 p.m.)

Rodriguez, subject of the acclaimed Sundance film "Searching for Sugarman" will be at the Somerville Theatre. Tickets are sold out, but you could get lucky searching online.

At T.T.'s, see White Dynomite, The Suicide Dolls, The Field Effect, and Coyote Kolb. ($8 / 18+ / Doors at 8 p.m.)

Lez Zeppelin are at the Middle East Downstairs. The all-girl New York-based Led Zep cover band will rock with special guests Mellow Bravo. ($20 / 18+ / Doors at 8 p.m.)

Saturday, April 13:

Because who doesn't secretly love Sublime more than is socially acceptable any more, it's my duty to tell you that Badfish is playing at the Sinclair, with Secret Machines and Avon Junkies. ($22.50 / 18+ / Doors at 8 p.m.)

And, the last night of the Rumble before next weekend's semi-finals features The Daily Pravda, Ruby Rose Fox, Jack Burton vs. David Lo Pan and Parks.

Check back next week for our weekly live music round-up.
