While the snow piles up outside, Henry Santoro and Julie Kramer are in the RadioBDC studio, and Boston Globe deputy metro editor Mike Bello stopped in to give listeners an update on what the weather looks like for the rest of the day.

Forecasters are now saying that although the snow was expected to taper off by early afternoon, this may no longer be the case. Some areas of Massachusetts, including Boston, can be on the lookout for up to over 12 inches of fresh snow today. Bello reports that Central Mass. could see as much as two feet.

Flooding is a concern for the coasts, after a home on Plum Island was toppled by the storm. There has also been flooding in Scituate, Marshfield, and Plymouth, and road closures have been reported in Lynn and Winthrop. There are voluntary evacuations underway in Scituate as well, said Bello.
