Dropkick Murphys Spread Holiday Cheer

Posted by Alaina Riccardi December 24, 2012 10:46 AM

We LOVED when Dropkick Murphys performed a very special ‘Live in the Lab’ at The Boston Globe in early December. The Media Lab was transformed into a Christmas setting complete with milk and cookies while the band serenaded Boston with their holiday song “The Season’s Upon Us”.

Over the weekend I caught them on TV not once but TWICE, honestly I can’t get enough of this cheerful tune. The band performed on VH1 Big Morning Buzz Friday evening, and then the music video was featured on E! News on Saturday night.

If you haven’t already watched the Dropkicks perform “The Season’s Upon Us’” you can check them out under our ‘Live in the Lab’ archive, or see them on VH1 right here. Pour a cup of eggnog and enjoy.

Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays from RadioBDC!

VIDEO: Prepping for the Santa Speedo Run

Posted by Chris Rattey December 6, 2012 10:55 AM

speedo_blog.jpgThe Santa Speedo Run is not just one Saturday in December for Matt Napoli and Steve Roge. It's a 365-day-a-year commitment ... a mission ... simply a way of life. RadioBDC was able to catch up with the pair during a pre-race training at Boston Common earlier this week. Not only do get up close and personal with a duo that is partaking in their 13th Santa Speedo Run, we learn about numb legs, pulled hammies and being comfortable in one's ... uh ... own skin. And tiny bathing suits.

Join RadioBDC on the starting line this Saturday, December 8, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for the 13th annual Santa Speedo Run at Lir & Whiskeys (903 Boylston St.) for pre and post-race activities. Good times will be had by all. Now ... on to some Speedo training. (And special thanks to Matt and Steve for being great sports ... and for matching trunkware). For more information and ways to donate, visit the Santa Speedo Run web site.
