Local hip-hop fans will get a chance to see Mos Def perform in Boston this May.
The "Mathematics" rapper, whose also goes by the name Yasiin Bey, will perform as part of the week-long Together Boston festival on May 15 at at the Wilbur. Mos is just one of several names released in the first wave of announcements for the May 11-17 celebration.
“Yasiin Bey is certainly an idol of mine,” says Together Boston founder and Creative Director David Day. “Not only do I have many of his songs memorized, but his activism and leadership within the AfricanAmerican community is fully acknowledged. He is an icon for our times.”
Tickets for Mos Def's performance are on sale now through the Wilbur's box office.
