Nominations for the Boston Music Awards were announced this morning and this year's crop is a wide-ranging mix of established names- Dropkick Murphys, Peter Wolf, Amanda Palmer- and up and comers- including Dom, who scored nods in the top three categories (listed below).
Several artists scored multiple nominations including Wolf, Palmer, Kingsley Flood, Eli "Paperboy" Reed & the True Loves, Mean Creek, Ad Frank, and Sarah Borges. Barry & the Remains will be the recipients of the Hall of Fame Award.
This year there are 30 categories representing everything from jazz to world to metal to rock. Several new races were added including Best Live Ongoing Residency, Best Boston Artist Who Doesn't Live Here, and Best DJ/Dance Night.
The show returns to the Liberty Hotel Dec. 5 and will include live performances by Dom, Jennie Dee & the Deelinquents, Mystery Roar, Kingsley Flood, and Kon with more to be announced.
