A year of activity will include new signings, re-issues, and special events including an appearance by Booker T. Jones at the South by Southwest music festival in March.
The first two new signings are label stalwart Hayes-- "South Park"'s "Chef" to all you young'uns-- and neo-soul singer Angie Stone, last seen freaking out and then pulling it together on VH1's "Celebrity Fit Club"
Concord acquired the label in 2004 and in addition to new releases by Hayes and Stone plans to release a two-disc retrospective of the Memphis hothouse and an Earth, Wind and Fire tribute album.
