A healthy prognosis for pop punk

New Found Glory dubbed its current tour “Pop Punk’s Not Dead,’’ yet during a tightly packed and animated show Thursday at House of Blues one had to wonder whether pop-punk had ever been ailing. If anything, pop-punk seems better defined, no longer sharing quarters with emo, screamo and melodic hardcore. The tour underscored the grassroots support keeping pop-punk afloat, as well as the fan loyalty that has swelled enough to pull the genre out of VFW halls and church basements.
