Lately we’ve been reading that playing video games could be good for the brain. We wonder whether that might also apply to hearing the Video Game Orchestra. The group, made up of area college students from 20 countries, includes a 45-piece orchestra, a 40-piece choir, and a five-piece rock band. They’ll play new arrangements of Super Mario Bros., Final Fantasy, and music from God of War, Silent Hill, and Metal Gear Solid. Video game music composer Wataru Hokoyama stops by to guest conduct his own “Afrika Suite.’’ 7:30 p.m. $15. Berklee Performance Center, 136 Mass. Ave., Boston. 617-931-2000, www.berkleebpc.com
