Florida's Mofro offers Southern discomfort

Page 2 of 2 -- New blues club: The Casa Loma Blues House in East Bridgewater has begun booking top local blues acts. Most shows will have one band, but some will feature two in what is designated a ''double trouble blues night." The Bruce Marshall Band plays tonight. Also upcoming: April 22, James Montgomery Blues Band; April 29, Barbecue Bob; May 6, Groove Authority and Chris Fitz; May 7, Vykki Vox; May 21, Cheryl Arena and Nicole Nelson; and May 27, Love Dogs. There are dinner specials and the club is open until 2 a.m. on Fridays and 1 a.m. on Saturdays. It also has more ambitious plans: ''One of my visions is not only to make this a fun place in the same fashion as the once-popular Cambridge House of Blues, but to make this facility the first Blues Hall of Fame in the world," according to spokesman Paul Papetti.

Bits and pieces: Good Charlotte and Frankie J have been added to the Kiss Concert at the Tweeter Center May 20. . . . Bob Weir & Ratdog perform this year's ''Big Pig Gig" to benefit the Farm School. The show is May 3 at Henrietta's Table in Cambridge. Details at 978-249-2656. Ratdog also plays the Orpheum April 23. . . . The Pixies have booked more dates in May and June, but so far the closest they'll come to Boston is Jones Beach on Long Island June 14. . . . Sparta has canceled the rest of its tour because guitarist Paul Hinojos suffered a ruptured disc in his back. . . . A great-sounding event is this year's All Good Music Festival with String Cheese Incident, Flaming Lips, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Particle, and many others on July 15-16 at Marvin's Mountaintop in Masontown, W.Va.
