'A River Runs Through It'

Robert Redford

Well-established actor Robert Redford hit it big with his directorial debut with "Ordinary People" in 1980, a film that sent him home with an Oscar. Redford's directing prowess can also be seen in the 1992 ode to fly fishing and family, "A River Runs Through It," starring Brad Pitt (right) and Craig Sheffer.

Other notable credits: "Lions for Lambs" (2007), "The Legend of Bagger Vance" (2000), "The Horse Whisperer" (1998), and "Ordinary People" (1980).
