'Away From Her'

Sarah Polley

Sarah Polley played the adorable Sara Stanley for years on "Road to Avonlea," and starred in films such as "Go" and "The Sweet Hereafter." Having made the leap to directing, Polley is still getting accolades for her work. Her 2006 film "Away From Her," which stars Julie Christie, Olympia Dukakis, and Gordon Pinsent, was nominated for two Oscars. Read The Globe's review of "Away From Her."
