'Million Dollar Baby'

Clint Eastwood

Legendary screen icon Clint Eastwood has turned to directing in a big way — and has the Oscar statues to show for it. Eastwood both directed and starred in the 2004 film "Million Dollar Baby," also starring Hilary Swank (right) as a female boxer. The movie won four Oscars, including best director for Eastwood. Read The Globe's review of "Million Dollar Baby."

Other notable credits: "Flags of Our Fathers" (2006), "Letters From Iwo Jima" (2006), "Mystic River" (2003), and "The Bridges of Madison County" (1995).
