The wait is over.

"50 Shades of Grey" author E.L. James used Twitter on Monday to announce that the leading man and leading lady for the film adaptation of the bestselling book have been chosen.

50shades.jpg"Sons of Anarchy" star Charlie Hunnam will play Christian Grey, and "Ben and Katie" actress Dakota Johnson will take on the role of his love interest and the book's protagonist, Anastasia.

James released the news in a series of four tweets this morning.

First up, she teased fans with a message to hold on to their hats:

Then, the news about Johnson, who is the daughter of actors Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith.

Up next, she made her followers wait to find out about Christian's fate.

Then dropped the bomb that the studly British actor, who recently starred in the summer blockbuster "Pacific Rim," would take the charge as one of contemporary literature's most talked about men.
