We interrupt this blog...
...to get on a plane and fly to Cannes for the Cannes Film Festival. I'll be arriving sometime tomorrow morning and will be staying for a week, hopefully long enough to catch the new Woody Allen, the new Clint Eastwood, the new Nuri Bilge Ceylan, and the new Steven Soderbergh. Plus a lot of new I-don't-know-who-they-are-yets. Remember, last year's Cannes saw the premieres of the eventual Best Picture winner at the Oscars and the film that ended up on more year-end Ten Best lists than probably any other. I'll be posting observations and videos as time allows, meaning as often as possible.
See you on the other side of travel hell -- travel heck, I'm hoping.
