Like his literary idol, J.D. Salinger, Wes Anderson tends to gravitate toward moody themes of isolation and characters hellbent on bucking the establishment. But these rogue nonconformists are regularly abetted by a fearless, and oftentimes, savvier colleague. Perhaps the most endearing of these intrepid allies is Dirk Calloway, a dogged supporter of Max Fischer's singular academic vision: one with an incessant number of extracurriculars and a disdain for conventional course work or dead languages. Dirk is a regular contributor to the Max Fischer Players, he represents Mexico in the Model UN, and is a co-founder of the Kite Flying Society.
