Dignan is like Charlie Brown, if Charlie Brown had criminal aspirations to pull off an "Oceans 11"-type heist. The wannabe Pink Panther, whose only prior work experience is in lawn maintenance, is notorious for his grand ambitions. These are captured in Dignan's 75-year plan, written in a spiral-bound notebook; something that has been dutifully transcribed by Wes Anderson fans. Dignan might be dimwitted and completely out of touch with reality, but as Anthony so poignantly puts it, "he's no cynic and he's no quitter." "Bottle Rocket" is easily Wes Anderson's funniest movie and much of it is because of Dignan puttering around on his miniature motorcycle, grumbling about Bob Mapplethorpe and his "great kitchen."
