'Passions of The Christ'
The controversial Mel Gibson movie is set for a theatrical release on Feb. 25. No one has seen it yet, but everyone seems to have strong feelings about this film.
What are your thoughts on the film? Will you see it? Will you boycott it? Maybe you think it's just a film, and all this hub-bub is unnecessary. Let us know.
I will definitely go see the Passion of the Christ.
I think it's wonderful that Mel Gibson is not affraid to let Holliwood or the world know that he is a man of God. He believes in Jesus the son God and he's letting everyone know it. This movie does not just stand for what he believes in , it's also what I and many others believe. Jesus came and shed his blood for our sins so that we may have life.
I applaud Mel Gibson for not allowing what others say about this movie keep him from going forward with releasing it.
I can't wait to see it!
Definitely not seeing it. There is far too much religious crap being pushed down our throats these days as it is. People need to lighten up. You do not have a constitutional right to not be offended occasionally.
I have been waiting from the moment I heard of this film to see it. I love the fact that Jesus once again has forced people to choose what side of his-story to be on. two-thousands years later and still being being misunderstood and killed by those who reject what has stood the test of time and countless numbers of secular as well as religious leaders rejecting the truth that He died for our sins...............Amen.
Interesting that Catherine would think it was interesting and truthful without even seeing it, isn't it? These right wing bible thumpers need to chill.
Absolutely. All the criticism by opponents makes me want to see it even more.
I'm going to see the movie but I'm not going to comment on it because I HAVEN'T SEEN IT YET!! How in the world can you want us to comment on it without seen it? I'm just glad I'm not in the media business, or I would have already lost the capacity to think rationally.
Yes I will go to see this movie. I believe it will be very interesting!
Yes I will see it and James Carroll is an idiot!!!
This is my second opinion...in addition to what I stated before..
The high court in Jeruselum and the crowd said "crucify him"..
That is the Jews, Pilot, the Romans, etc. The Romans placed Jesus on the Cross...Everyone is too blame...
The point is that in Jesus' hour, he called up to God, and said "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing", as stated in the Bible.
Jesus forgave everyone on the cross, and man kind..
We also carry our own cross in this world. The point is do we forgive those that hurt, condemn us, do hartred acts, steel, kill, cheat to get around in life, ruthless and selfish people. We as human beings, have to realize, that faith carries us...and forgiveness in our souls is going to save us...We also have to realize, that with "Him" we are someone, WITHOUT him we are no one...

Sounds like the problem for James Carroll isn't Mel Gibson, but Jesus Christ. As a Jew, I had no problems seeing the pre-screening of this movie. I consider Jesus one of the greatest prophets of the world. Perhaps, Mr. Carroll, it would do you good to get out of Boston and into the real world of pain, blood, decadence, decay, and yes - evil. You don't find that with a coffee cup sitting at a computer monitor. Welcome to the real world, Mr. Carroll.
