The simultaneous chess exhibition used to be a major event in chess annals. Grandmasters picked up direly needed cash by touring the country and giving woodpushers a chance to play against their idols. Players that have come to this area have included Bobby Fischer, Mikhail Tal and Susan Polgar. Yet, the glorious simul diminished markedly with the appearance of the computer. Possibly, it was no longer profitable.
